Reporting to the Head of Marketing, Middle East and Africa, the Marketing Business Manager leads planning, performance management, operational excellence, strategic initiatives and resource management (program, fixed and head count). The charter of the Marketing Business Manager is as follows:
- Driving a longer-term strategic planning process within MENA marketing and across SAP with key stakeholders, working closely with the Country and Industry leaders within the organization.
- Managing and optimizing the performance/ROI of the business in direct support of the MENA marketing team and tightly aligned to the Demand Management initiatives driven by the marketing organization.
- Providing critical decision-making support through deep business analysis and insights.
- Supporting the management of budgets and resources across the marketing organization in close coordination with Financial controllers, including program, fixed and headcount resources.
- Lead marketing operations to drive operational excellence efforts and improve business processes and increase the productivity of marketing employees by a minimum of 15% every year.
- Managing strategic projects related to GTM alignment within the MENA organization.
- Efficiently and effectively reporting on operational standards and systems to ‘simplify' day-to-day business challenges for the MENA Marketing team.
EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS
- Working closely with the Marketing team to support the development of our KPIs/Metrics; provide benchmarks against history and industry; and liaise with the EMEA BMO to ensure that we have the right systems, tools and processes in place to measure and monitor our goals.
- Supporting the strategy & planning process by providing insights and recommendations to develop business priorities across the SAP MENA marketing organization.
- Management and monitoring the performance of the business: Dashboards & Business Analysis focused on Marketing KPIs, Pipeline Health, Demand Management and Program and Campaign Effectiveness; Business Process Monitoring and Improvement of our marketing and sales funnel.
- Analysis and recommendations to improve overall marketing KPIs, pipeline health, campaign effectiveness and lead funnel performance.
- Alignment and integration with the MENA Demand Management function to support the creation & execution of a demand management operating framework, KPIs, and governance model within the MUs and sub-regions.
- Requirements for Performance Management reporting and analytics on monthly and quarterly business reviews.
- Liaison between the region and EMEA Marketing Operations to provide Business Process Documentation and recommendations for improvement
- Business Reviews and Optimization - Review business performance, understand why things are happening, and make decisions to optimize our performance. Manage our marketing pipe reviews; evaluate our Return on Marketing Investment and make recommendations to optimize and increase efficiencies.
- Work with a team of globally diverse and cross-functional Performance Management experts to deliver best practices sharing.
WORK EXPERIENCE
- 5+ years of relevant business operations management and business transformation experience.
- Strong experience with CRM, BW, MS Excel, Xcelsius, Explorer and other analytics and reporting tools. Ability to lead the organization in performance management dashboarding and toolsets to analyze the business.
- Strong PPT capability.
- Strong relation building skills and client-service orientation.
- Knowledge of all marketing and sales disciplines and processes; ability to gain confidence of executive management.
- Familiar with CRM@SAP (Campaign Management, Lead Management and Opportunity Management Modules) and BW, or similar tools.
- Ability to influence strategic decision-making with quality insights and is capable of utilizing his/her strong interpersonal, verbal, presentation and writing skills to successfully interact with subordinates, colleagues, and executive management.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATION / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
- Bachelors degree required; MBA is a plus.
